Geneva Brass Quintet China Tour

In August 2018, Geneva Brass Quintet is backed by Pro Helvetia Shanghai for a tour in China for eight concerts, from far-north Harbin to Chongqing, passing through Beijing.
Established in 2001, the Geneva Brass Quintet is a chamber music group of Swiss musicians. Band members consist of David Rey (Trombone), Baptiste Berlaud (Trumpet), Lionel Walter (Trumpet), Eric Rey (Tuba), and Christophe Sturzenegger (French Horn). Eager to create a close-knit musical unit and being particularly attracted to chamber music, they formed the quintet with the aim of sharing their passion with the public.
Well-known in Switzerland, the quintet has already performed at the Sion Festival, St-Germain concerts in Geneva, as well as at prestigious venues such as the Victoria Hall and Saint Peter’s Cathedral in Geneva. The Quintet regularly plays for various Swiss radios including Espace 2. They’ve regularly toured in South Africa, Mexico, and other cities globally. Each year in October, the quintet organizes the Geneva Brass Festival, an international event dedicated to brass.
“This selection demonstrates the very musical and sonorous approach the Geneva Brass has achieved. The ensemble’s timbre is rich, blended, and exciting to hear. ”
