No Square Jazz Quartet New Tour around China

Created in July 1994, the jazz quartet No Square was founded and led by the German bassist, André Hahne. The jazz of No Square is composed of simple melodies and complex binary grooves inspired by polyrhythms and odd measures developed in contemporary jazz. No Square has also created and produced music for many creations and theater pieces.
The band has produced 10 albums so far and has widely toured around the world. During their tour in 2018, they will play their latest album, “Bad Bus”. The creation of this new disc is inspired by the band’s previous adventures in numerous countries. One shall find in this record the incisive sound of the saxophonist Matthieu Duremarque, the formidable creativity of the pianist Michael Haudendschild, the velvet sound of the bass of André Hahne and the virtuosity of the drummer Lionel Friedli. This tour once again received the support of Pro Helvetia Shanghai, Swiss Arts Council.
