Artists in Residence

Pro Helvetia Shanghai is honoured to announce the final selection of 2020 Studio & Research Residency Artists.

Thanks to the artists’ great enthusiasm, we have received a competitive listing of proposals from both the Swiss and Chinese candidates. After undergoing joint discussion and careful assessment with our colleagues in Switzerland, we have chosen the following 11 groups of candidates, who will be granted our residency support in 2020:

Four Swiss artists (Peter Aerschmann, Alan Bogana, Gilles Jacot, Lucie Tuma) will take a three-month studio residency in Beijing and Shanghai. Correspondingly, four Chinese artists (Cheng Xinhao, Li Tingwei, Li Shuang, Li Xing) will stay in Basel, Geneva, and Zurich for studio residency. Three groups of Swiss artists (Vincent Ruiz, Bettina Spoerri & Miklós Klaus Rózsa, Salvatore Vitale) will conduct a one-month research residency in Shanghai.

Congratulations! We hope that they will take the opportunity to absorb, create, and exchange. Please expect our launch of 2021 Studio Residency open call at the end of this year.

A special tribute to our official media partner The Art Newspaper China for the open call.
