Lai Huihui is invited by Pro Helvetia Shanghai, Swiss Arts Council to participate at 2018 Taipei Arts Festival. The seminar offers up-and-coming young stage practitioners a platform for in-depth exchange in both theoretical and practical fields.
Lai Huihui is an independent producer and curator based in Beijing and Guangzhou. 2017 she co-founded St. Production.
As a curator, she programmed ‘Social Scene’ (2014), ‘Changing the Public Landscape’ (2015) and ‘What do we inherit? The future is in the past’ (2016) with Nanluoguxiang Festival, and initiated a series of ongoing projects including ‘New Talent’ (2014- ) and ‘Independent Theater Forum’ (2014-). Recently, she co-curated and produced LookOUT Festival, the first gender festival in China.
She also worked closely with international institutes for the production of cultural exchange projects including: Swiss Window in Asia (Supported by Pro Helvetia Shanghai, Swiss Arts Council, 2016), Danish Children Theatre Festival (Danish Culture Center in Beijing, 2014), The Royal Swedish Theater New Writers Exchange Program (Dramaten, Stockholm, 2013), etc.
From 2009-2016, She was the managing director at Beijing Penghao Theatre, and producer of Beijing Nanluoguxiang International Performing Arts Festival. She also worked for Shanghai Modern Drama Valley (2017), China Shanghai International Festival Rising Artist’s Work (2016), and Shanghai/New York: Future History (Asia Society, New York 2017).
