Towards the end of his residency, Nicolas held an exhibition “West Lake Stories”, which explored the Chinese adventures of the famous Wile E a.k.a the Coyote. He worked on a painting collaboration with the second-year students from the SIMA department at the Chinese Academy of Art in Hangzhou. Since 2014, he has used the figure of the coyote continuously to question his practice or research experiences in forms of small-scale black and white paintings.
Nicolas Delaroche was born in 1985, and currently lives and works in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has participated in more than 40 exhibitions in institutions like the Musée de L’Elysée in Lausanne, Aperture Foundation in New York, Centre PasquArt in Biel, Rencontre Photographiques in Arles.
