Working as choreographer, performance artist and producer, nunu develops through her work an characteristic expression playing with time and space in poetic and illusionary dimensions in both visual and dramaturgic levels with a particular sense of humor instinctively blended into her choreography. nunu’s latest projects in 2016 include Trumpet Upside Down Dancing in Air – a series of endurance performance actions where she tests her body limitations and reassess the physics of sound by attempting to play a trumpet while suspending herself upside-down from significant heights site-specifically; But Sorry, No Music is nunu’s recent visual / journal series creating 6cm x 6.3cm drawings done daily using one uninterrupted stroke on choreographies of performance miniatures where she also experiments on how the choreography can be performed by itself in the absence of the interpreter(dancer). nunu has rewarded twice by Gluck Art Foundation in arts and education, and she is a former grantee of Asian Cultural Council for a 6-month art research program in U.S.A. from 2015-2016.
In December 2016, nunu has presented the Chinese version of Trumpet Upside Down Dancing in Air at Shanghai Minsheng Art Museum during the “Staging Alterity: Dialogues on Different Worlds / Different Theatres” project, curated by Zhao Chuan and supported by Pro Helvetia Shanghai.
