Yuan Youmin was born in 1971 in Anhui, China. Currently, he is a professor at China Academy of Art (CAA) and Executive Director of China Design Museum in CAA, a modern museum covering an area of 16,800 sqm.
In 2006 he was invited as a Guest Professor to Parisian school l’École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs and hosted the project “Horizontal/ Vertical — A Comparative Research Study between The Chinese Characters and Latin letters”; Founder and Art Director of the “Studio_0909”. He is the chief designer of the logo for Hangzhou G20 Summit, 2016 and Hangzhou Asian Games, 2022. He served as the curator for the opening exhibition of China Design Museum in 2018. Through teaching, practice, and research, Yuan makes great effort to eventually bring Eastern wisdom to contemporary design practice.
During this trip, Yuan will visit design museums and institutions that focus on product design, architecture, fashion, and other related design scenes.
